Job Description

Department: Sales Division
Reports to: Director of Sales and Product Development

KD Analytical provides products and services supporting Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives technologies and applications to the Homeland Defense and Homeland Security markets.  Reporting to the Director of Sales and Product Development, the Sales Engineer is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned territory. The Sales Engineer will develop a detailed understanding of the capabilities, features and benefits of all products, as well as an understanding of the customer and market requirements for the use of the products.  The Sales Engineer will interface with State and Local First Responders and Military customers and must understand the needs and requirements for CBRNE equipment in this market.  Most products are service and software based, so the Sales Engineer will be required to demonstrate these products to potential customers and effectively explain and promote the use of these products.

Requirements

  • Present and sell company products and services to current and new customers.
  • Prepare action plans to identify and follow-up with target customers.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and quotes.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain current customers and prospects in CRM.
  • Manage account through active follow-up.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Prepare status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and progress to goals.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities to identify new market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

Job Specifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in sales.
  • 3-5 years of experience in military CBRNE field, Fire/HazMat, EMS or Emergency Management recommended
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a hard science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel; >50% travel required.
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
  • Mandatory drug testing
  • Requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Level Clearance
